This weekend we celebrate another commercial holiday, one that I find hard to cope with, Mother’s day.
After losing my mum, this day can sometimes leave me feeling quite sad and a little empty. It sometimes leaves me wondering what our relationship would be like today if she was still with us. So it’s Valentine’s Day, to be honest, it is a day I’m not overly big on. One of my friends refers to Valentine’s day as Happy Commercial Love day! Although it’s a nice opportunity to show your loved one that you care, I think couples should be romantic every day, not just today.
I don’t buy my boyfriend a valentines gift… I make him his favourite chocolate muffins and last year I made him a card, that I may or may not have printed out on the office inkjet. (who says romance is dead?).
