Well, finally we have some nice weather! (I’m not including this week) With the mornings being lighter, I’m waking up earlier which gives me time to watch a few new Netflix releases before I go to work.
So in this post I’d wanted to share with you some of my go-to films and series.
Queer Eye – Series 3
YAS QUEEN! Queer Eye is back! And I’m loving this series. A new feature on the current series are makeovers featuring women, which I think adds a new dynamic. One of my favourite episodes is Hunter to Huntee, featuring a lovely woman called Jody. The Fab5 give her a new lease of life and her confidence skyrockets, which as a viewer is so lovely to watch.
Another new edition the Fab5 that I must mention is Bruley who is the official loft mascot, he is a French Bulldog and yes I’m following him over on Instagram.
This is a great chick flick starring Rebel Wilson, Liam Hemsworth (one of the reasons why I watched it) Adam Devine and Priyanka Chopra.
Rebel plays a young architect who has become dishearted with love and that happily ever after you are sold in romantic comedies. One morning she finds herself stuck in the middle of a romantic comedy. She has the perfect apartment, the perfect wardrobe and she has the attention of the so-called ‘perfect guy’ She has to find out why she is stuck and how to break the ‘curse’.
It is a really easy watch and has some good scenes, it’s the perfect film to watch on a lazy Sunday afternoon. One of the highlights for me is the on-screen reunion for Rebel Wilson and Adam Devine, who remembers Fat Amy and Bumper?
I would class this film as an oldie but a goodie! This film was released way back in 2012! Inspired by a true story starring Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum. They play a young married couple Paige and Leo who are deeply in love. Paige is in a car crash and loses at last 4 years of her memory.
So she doesn’t remember meeting or marrying Leo. They both feel like strangers and have to find a way of finding themselves again. You learn more things about their life together as she does, and it’s heartbreaking as a viewer that she doesn’t remember, you really want them to work out.
This film is quite a tear-jerker, so it’s a good film to watch if you need a good cry. I love how this film plays out and I think their on-screen chemistry is very believable.
Beauty and the Beast
I’m so happy to see this film on Netflix. I loved the original version way back in the 90’s. I was about 7 and I just wanted to be Belle, she has always been my favourite Disney Princess!
This is a live-action re-make and for me, it had a lot to live up to. But thankfully, in my opinion, it delivered. Emma Watson plays Belle perfectly and I love how strong and independent she is.
I shouldn’t really have to explain the plot on this one as I think most of us have grown up watching and hopefully loving the original version.
The ‘be our guest’ scene is my favourite part of the film, I love how they have re-created it in live action. I must give a shout out to Emma Thompson who plays Mrs. Pots, she is quite frankly amazing in this film, well at everything she is in, in my eyes.
So these are my spring picks of Netflix releases. Tell me what you are currently watching. Leave a comment in the box below. I’ll follow this post up soon, with more new releases soon.
Thanks for reading and I’ll see you on the next one
