So it’s the last day of December. I sometimes think how did that happen? The last month seems to have been a haze of Christmas get-togethers and eating everything in sight, (chocolate mainly in my case.)
How has your 2018 been? It’s been a bit of a wired one that’s for sure. Anyway, let me get on with my December favourites. You know the drill by now, I share with you the things I have been loving throughout December. So here they are.
Maybelline Color Show Glitter Top Coats
I think December is the month of glitter and sparkle. So I these nail varnish top coats have been my absolute favourites. I always love how versatile nail polish is as it can instantly add a pop of colour to your look. The two I have been using are called 90 Bling Bling which is gold flakes and 95 Rocks, which is silver speckles.
I have been wearing these top coats over my three favourite nail polishes, 352 Downtown Red, 615 Mint for Life both from Maybelline and 345 Black Cherries from Rimmel London. I think if I had to choose between the two top coats, 95 Rock would be my favourite as I think silver goes with more colours.
These top coats have been the perfect way to add an extra bit of Christmas sparkle to my nails this December.
L’oreal Paris Pure Clay Soothing Mask
You know me, I love a face mask. I think a face mask is one of the best ways to relax after a stressful day. This is another pure clay face mask I have tired from L’oreal and it doesn’t disappoint. It feels so cooling on my skin when I apply it.
It helps take the redness out of my skin and leaves it feeling hydrated and so soft. After I have used this mask I use the L’oreal Hydro Genis to give my skin some extra hydration.
Breaking Bad – Netflix
Breaking Bad has been the series that I have been binge watching throughout December and I have been loving it. At first, it took a couple of episodes for me to get into it, and now I’m 4 series in and I’m hooked.
Ok I know I’m very late to party on this one, this series first aired about ten years ago and the last episode aired in 2013. Better late than never I say!
If you haven’t watched it, the series is about a high school chemistry teacher Walter White, who finds out he is terminally ill. In a bid to help his family he turns to producing meth to make money to leave behind for his family.
I like how all the characters are quite complex, all of them seem to have an inner struggle that the series explores. In one way or another most of the main characters are linked in some way.
Most of the series is in Walt’s perspective, he goes from a meek and mild family man to quite badass! He will do anything to save his skin. If you haven’t watched it yet, difentaly add it to your watch list.
Chocolate, Chocolate and more Chocolate
December is also the month of chocolate, it is acceptable to have a small piece of chocolate daily which our advert calendars and in the time between Christmas and New Year, it is acceptable to eat chocolate for breakfast as well! I’m sure and I hope that I’m not the only one who does this!
The chocolate I have been loving this month is Hotel Chocolat, I was lucky enough to have their advent calendar bought for me by my boyfriend and I also got the ‘H’ Box Winter Puddings selection box for Christmas. I love the taste of their chocolates as they are very rich, so you only need one or two at a time, so they stay around for a longer period of time.
All of the flavour combinations they have are amazing, the Winter Puddings selection box is my new favourite, the chocolates I have loved are the Cinnamon Bun, Christmas Mess, Salted Camarel Cream and Carrot Cake.
New look Corduroy Mini Skirts
I have been loving the clothes from New Look lately, and mini skirts especially have been a firm favourite of mine.
My favourites have been these A-line corduroy mini skirts, which are from New Look. I first bought the tanned version to go with a black and cream roll neck jumper and then I saw the same skirt in a green, which I loved just as much and had to buy.
Both skirts are different from my usual colour palette and I love that they go with most colours. I think the A-line cut is super flattering as well. These skirts are good quality and they are friendly on the purse strings too, both costing under £20.
Gariner SkinActive Moisture Bomb Eye Tissue Mask
Another face mask but I just had to include this in my December favourites. At this time of year, I have had a lot of downtime, so It’s the perfect time to relax and have a bit of a pamper. These tissues eye masks from Gariner are awesome.
They are so soothing on the gentle skin around your eye area, they reduce eye bags and under eye puffiness, and leave your skin feeling refreshed, soft and leave your eye area looking brighter and more alert. If you have had a late night these are the perfect skin- pick me up.
So these have been my favourites throughout December. I hope you have enjoyed reading all my monthly favourites this year. I’d love to know your December or your year favourites. So please leave a comment in the box below.
See you for more monthly favourites in 2019 xx
