Hands up if you think October has gone really quickly! I can’t believe how warm it has been for an October too. I never thought I’d say this but I’m ready for the colder weather, I’ve got some new Autumn outfits that I really want to wear. (I’m never happy am I?)
Anyway, let me get on with this latest post, you know the drill if you have been here before, here are the things I have been loving this October.
Soap and Glory Marvellous Massaging Face Mitt
This is my new skin pick me up, I just love it, I think this face mitt has multiple uses, I use it with my face wash, it helps to get to those hard to reach areas of your face, like the areas around your nose and it doesn’t miss any makeup either. It helps exfoliates the skin and leaves it feeling so soft.
I also use it when I apply my evening moisturiser, because of the texture of the mitt, I think it helps the product get deeper into my pores which makes my skin feeling so much smoother.
Olay Total Effects 7 in one Anti-Aging Moisturiser SPF 30
You know me, I love a moisturiser that has more than one purpose! I think 7 effects is just enough! All these benefits help keep skin looking youthful, radiant and contains Vitamin B3, C, and E. One of the main benefits for me is the SPF 30 protection, I never leave the house without an SPF!
I’ll be honest, at first, I wasn’t too sure about this moisturiser, as when I first started using it, I had a small breakout of spots, but I think that was down to it being a really hot weekend when I first tried it. But after using for a few months I really like it, it leaves my skin feeling smooth and doesn’t make my skin look oily which some other moisturisers have done in the past.
Another trend I am really loving this Autumn is all the check patterns. I think check feels really preppy, which is a style I really love. I was a massive fan of the checked look from Clueless. (all you nineties kids will remember!).
This Houndstooth coat has become a strong favourite of mine. It matches with this bag from Accessorize, the deep burgundy of the bag brings out the red in the check pattern, and I find it fun to experiment with a new colour palette.
I tend to stick to certain colours (navy blue mainly) but having this check coat, has made me go for new colours that I typically wouldn’t have worn in the past. I have moved to deep reds and greens to compliment and contrast with the colours of this coat.
Emporio Armani – Because it’s You Perfume
I have loved this Perfume for ages! So much in fact that, I would go to Debenhams pretty much every week to try it! Now I finally have it, I wear it all the time. I love this fragrance as it has a sweet and slightly floral smell, it feels very feminine. It’s not too overpowering and it lasts all day which is a must for me.
Little Black Book the Toolkit for the Working Women
This year I have got back into reading, I have loved the ‘chick-lit’ books from Sophie Kinsella, but I have also loved reading business and blog related books written by successful businesswoman. GirlBoss by Sophia Amoruso, for example, was such a great book, the advice, and knowledge she shares about how she grew her business was really inspiring.
Another great book that I have discovered is ‘Little Black Book’ by Otegha Uwagba.
It’s a perfect guide for women working in the creative industry, she shares advice about managing your time and how to maximize your productivity, building your brand and knowing your worth.
I like how the book is laid out in short chapters with smaller subsections so you can just pick it up and read a few sections when you have a few minutes in your day.
I’m loving all the Autumn trends this year, all the burnt oranges, deep reds, greens, and blues. One of my favourite trends that is back with a vengeance is Leopard print, it seems to be everywhere!
One item of Leoprint can really make a statement to an otherwise plain outfit. One of my favourite pieces is this skirt from Dorthy Perkins. I love the cut and the length and it is really versatile. I usually wear it with a black T-shirt or blouse, but I think it would also look great with my Boohoo slogan T-shirt, for a bit more of dressed down look.
