September Favourites

OK, first thing’s first I need to first apologise for the lack of monthly favourites! I would love to say that it is because of a genuine reason but the truth is I don’t really have a decent excuse as to why there hasn’t been any since May!

The only reason I can give is that the weather this year has been so unbelievable and I have wanted to be out enjoying every single minute of it. Once you break that blogging routine, it can be pretty hard to get back on track!

Anyway, enough with excuses, I’m back and here are the things I have been loving throughout September.

J’adore Slogan T-shirt

I have always loved a slogan T-shirt and my J’adore T-shirt from Boohoo is my favourite at the minute, I seem to wear almost every weekend. I tend to wear it with jeans or a midi skirt and a denim jacket. It is a great t-shirt to dress up or down.

Misfit – Charli Howard

I’m still trying to read most nights before I go to bed, I find it is a good way to switch off after a busy day. The book that I currently have on the go is Misfit by Charli Howard, she tells her story with honesty and a bit a humor, about how she has always tried to fit in but feels she never has and how she finally has reached a point where she doesn’t care!

I like how it is written as it feels like she is talking directly to you on a personal level, I think it’s a story each of us can relate to in one way or another.

L’oreal – Smooth Sugars Nourish Scrub – Cocoa Butter

I am well and truly an L’oreal girl at the minute, I love their makeup and skincare ranges. One of my current favourites is this Smooth Sugar Nourish Scrub. It has ingredients including Cocoa Butter, Coconut Butter, and Cocoa Grains, which are meant to help remove dead skin cells, soothe dryness and protect the skin.

I love how it sinks into my skin, and it smells amazing, just like chocolate! I think this is the perfect scrub to use every few days to give skin a well-deserved skin pick me up! It is great to use this time of year when your skin can get a bit dry.

L’oreal Hydra Genius

This moisturiser is always a strong favourite of mine, especially during the summer and autumn months. It’s light and isn’t greasy and it is so soothing on my skin especially if it is a bit dry. A little bit of this goes a long way and I have been using it every night before I put on my night cream.

Unforgotten – ITV and Netflix

Unforgotten was a series suggestion from one of my friends and I loved it. The third series has recently been on ITV and the first two series are available on Netflix. It stars Nicola Walker and Sanjeev Bhaskars as police detectives, who try to solve historic murder cases.

Each series is a different murder case and you meet at least 5 characters who in one way or another are connected to the murder victim that has just been discovered.

I don’t want to spoil it for you by saying too much, but what is great about this series is that each episode uncovers a new secret or a new piece of information, which keeps you guessing until the identity of the killer is unmasked in the last episodes. This is such a great crime-drama series and I recommend you give it a watch.

Edinburgh Rhubarb and Ginger Ale pre-mixed gin

There is just something about a gin tinny (as I like to call them). Pre-mixed gins are a great way to sample a new gin before you splash out on a £30 plus bottle of the stuff!

The pre-mixed gin that I can’t get enough of right now is this Edinburgh Rhubarb and ginger gin liqueur with ginger ale. I love the mixture of sweet with a kick of spicy ginger at the end. Before I found this gem I was a fan of Rhubarb gin with a regular Indian tonic, but adding ginger ale takes it to another level. It is a massive gin game changer for me which I just LOVE.
