Lately I have become a little obsessed with having nice eyebrows, Like most of us, I go through different makeup stages. Recently I have been focusing a dewy glow, so it has been all about highlighters, before highlighting it was contouring and way before contouring it was lipsticks, (ok it still is lipstick, I currently have about 5 in my handbag!)
But eyebrows have become my new favourite thing. I’m quite fair so I always have to tint them or use an eyebrow pencil as the sun bleaches them and it looks like I have none whatsoever.
With so many different eyebrow defining products out there it is quite difficult to
choose the right product, So I thought I would do a quick review of some of the products I have recently tried.
Maybelline New York Tattoo Brow Micro Pen 120 Medium Brown
This is Maybelline’s first Microblade effect eyebrow ink pen, it has three individual tips that are ultra-thin to allow for precision which leaves brows looking like they have been microbladed.
When I first used it, the pen reminded me of a felt tip pen. It is really easy to use, you just place the pen at the thickest part of your brow and slowly flick the pen to the end of your brows filling in any gaps. I found it lasted for most of the day.
For some reason got better results on my right brow than my left, I don’t know if I held the pen the wrong way (you have to put it at the angle right for it to work) or I’m just a bit kac handed! I found the tip was a bit hard on my left brow. (this also could be because my pen has started to dry out, put the cap back on properly kids)
Overall this eyebrow pen is a good product, It is value for money, it has a nice colour and I like that it has 3 little tips to the brush as it gives a more natural finish. Because you have to angle it in a certain way, it didn’t work as well on my left brow!
L’oreal Paris Brow Artist Xpert
L’oreal Brow Artist Xpert is their first retractable brow pencil, which aims to make brows look more defined and fuller.
I really like retractable eyebrow and eyeliner products. I’m not a massive fan of pencils as I find they don’t sharpen well and they always break.
The pencil is shaped like a teardrop, which allows easier application of the product. The pencil has a brush at the other end of it, which allows you spread the product evenly so you don’t get a big build up in one area and helps you get great final eyebrow shape.
I’m currently loving this product, I think the pencil is so soft, which makes application easier. Unlike the tattoo pen, I didn’t have a problem with my left brow and I didn’t end up with uneven eyebrows. I like how they have a good selection of colours as being quite fair I sometimes struggle with finding the right colour.
So these are my reviews of some of the eyebrow pens/pencils I have been using recently. What products have you been loving lately? I would love to know, leave me a comment below. Xx
