I love writing posts about makeup! I have so many lipsticks, lip glosses, nail polishes, blushes and highlighters.
I’ve been looking back at some older posts, I have seen how my makeup tastes have changed slightly. I wouldn’t say I’m fickle but I do like trying new products from time to time and with Makeup, there are no acceptions.
I wouldn’t say I spend the earth on my makeup but leave me in boots for too long and it can get dangerous. The brands that I am loving at the moment are L’oreal Paris and Revlon.
Maybelline and Rimmel are still my go-to brands for lipsticks and nail polish. (which I’m sure you have seen from my monthly favourites.)
In this post, I want to share what’s new in my makeup bag for 2018, and what my current makeup favourites are.
Seventeen Define & Conquer Contour Kit
So this palette is still a strong favourite from my 2017 makeup bag. I’m still a fan of some light contouring, I know for this years trend is all about highlighting, but I love the definition I get from the darker powder. And it helps makes my face look a bit thinner.
This is a great powder to add a nice bit of subtle contour and it is easy to wear throughout the day.
Revlon Photoready Insta-Fix Highlighting Stick – 200 Pink Light
I love this using this highlighter. As I mentioned before this year seems to be all about highlighter and having a dewy glow to your skin. This highlighter for me, ticks all of those boxes.
I usually add highlighter to my brow bone and my cheeks, and my nose. I love this pink shimmery shade and that it is on a stick as it is perfect to apply when you are in rush, which 9 times out of 10 I always am!
Revlon Photoready Powder – 010 Fair
I love using a powder to mattify my skin. I like to use a moisturizer that has SPF in it as I want to make sure I don’t get wrinkles too early! But I find using an SPF can leave my skin looking slightly shiny and oily so I like to use this powder.
I love this powder, it is easy to blend and is very lightweight. I love applying with my face expert Real technique brush, as it makes the application really quick and easy, and it never looks too heavy or caked on.
L’oreal Paris True Match Foundation – 1.5.N
This foundation is a new addition to my makeup bag for this year, for ages I used Revlon colorstay foundation. I wanted to try a new foundation for a while and I’ve heard so many good things about L’oreal True Match foundation so I wanted to give it a go.
I have gone with the shade 1.5.N as I have quite fair skin. I think this is a good match to my skin tone. The formula is quite light so you can build up to a heavier coverage if you need to. It feels lovely on my skin and easy to wear.
I prefer foundations that aren’t too heavy as I feel they can block my pores and I can get outbreaks.
L’oreal Paris ‘Life’s a Peach’ Skin awakening Blush – 01 Peach Addict
This is another new addition to my 2018 makeup bag and quite a new release from L’oreal Paris. This is a lovely peach shade of blush, which adds a lovely dewy glow to my skin.
I wanted a slightly different shade of blush for summer to make my skin look a bit sunkissed. I am also looking to possibly faze out the contouring powder and go for a more natural look and this blusher will possibly be the replacement.
L’oreal Paris Paradise Extatic Mascara
I like to switch up my mascara quite regularly some of my past favourites have been Maybelline Colossal Volume Express Mascara and Rimmel Wonder’full Extreme Black Mascara.
The Mascara I love using at the moment is L’oreal Paris Paradise Extatic Mascara. It doesn’t smudge and it lasts all day. It doesn’t clump either. I have naturally long eyelashes so I like a mascara that doesn’t make my lashes too long as my glasses can squash my eyelashes! (not a good look) But this Mascara gives me great lashes with or without my glasses.
Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor – 630 Seduction
I really love this lip colour from Revlon. I have used their foundations and highlighters in the past. I love the colour of this, it is a lovely subtle nude, which is perfect to wear every day, it also smells amazing. It is quick and easy to apply and gives a lovely finish to your lips. I love the casing of this lip colour as it looks really cool and streamline and it fits nicely in my bag.
These are my current 2018 Makeup bag favourites. Obviously, I have loads more makeup products that I use but these are the products that I have enjoyed using.
