Yeeeessss! We have almost made it to the end of January and what a long month it’s been. I know I shouldn’t but I’ve been counting down the days until payday!
I think for most of us January can be a hard month, we have come down from the big party of Christmas and the New Year and have been met with dark mornings and wet days. But some positives to come from January are that fact that it is a fresh start to a new year and the best is still to come. I’m trying to be more positive this January, as I can find it a very hard month.
Anyway I think I have babbled on enough now, let me get on with this post, My January Favourites. These are the things I have been loving this month.
Sophie Kinsella – My not so Perfect Life
Recently I have had trouble sleeping and in the past have turned to watching youtube videos or Netflix for a late night series binge, which keeps me up even later!
So I decided to start getting back into reading. I have always loved books by Sophie Kinsella, the Shopaholic series being some of my favourites. I really loved this book, I was hooked by the second chapter and I felt I really related to the main character Katie. She is trying to get ahead in her career and learns through the book, what you portray to people isn’t always the truth! I don’t really want to spoil the book for anyone, but if you like Sophie Kinsella this is must read for you, I found it a joy to read.
Maybelline New York Color Show 60 Seconds – 301 Love This Sweater
Ok so my favourite list wouldn’t really be complete without a nail polish colour! So here is the colour for this month! After wearing a lot of reds and glitter for December I decided to go simple with this lovely light plum nude.
With all Maybelline Color show polishes, the colour dries quickly and lasts most of the week with a good top coat. It is a great colour to wear to work and if you don’t like bright colours.
Accessorize metal ring saddle cross body bag burgundy
For the first time in years I decided to treat myself in the January Sales! So I bought myself this little gem. I have always loved bags from Accessorize and I have had my eye on this bag for a while. It is perfect for the weekend to carry a few essentials, while out and about like lipstick, keys and a small wallet. I love this colour and it goes great with my tanned coat and my red checked scarf (remember them from my November Favourites)
Also when I checked online the other day this bag is still available and still on sale for wait for it…£7.50! An even better bargain that what I bought it for!
Soap and Glory Rich and Foamous Shower and Bath Body Wash
If you follow me on Instagram you may have seen that I treated myself (again) to a few Soap and Glory gift sets, which were half price at Boots.
I have only just started using Soap and Glory products and I am looking forward to trying more from their range.
This shower gel has a lovely honey sugar and oak scent and it leaves my skin feeling so soft and smooth.
Soap and Glory Smoothie Star Breakfast Scrub
This scrub is great partner to the previous shower gel as it has the same honey sugar and oak scent. I apply it after my shower to wet skin, and I love how smooth it leaves my skin.
Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula Lip Balm
With the weather being so cold and going from environments that have central heating to the cold weather can make my lips feel really sore and chapped. I sometimes struggle with finding a lip balm that works well and quickly.
This lip balm works wonders for me, it leaves my lips feeling really soft and repairs my dry and chapped lips really quickly. I also think it smells lovely too. I always make sure I have this lip balm on me in the winter months.
Laura Ashley Rhubarb and Vanilla Scented Candle
I love candles and there is something really wintery and cosy and about coming home getting under a blanket with a film or your favourite box set and lighting a few candles. I love having my house filled with them and the scent that they leave when you walk into a room.
This Rhubarb and Vanilla candle smells lovely. Laura Ashley have a nice range of candles and this one by far smells the best. I also love the casing the candle comes in, very subtle which will go with any colour scheme, and I love the leaf and blossom details as well.
So these are the things I have been loving this January, I am now looking forward to some warmer weather and sharing lots more of my favourites with you! What have you been loving this January? Let me know in the comment box below. Bye for now xx
