Summer is well and truly here, the sun is shining and it’s hot. I love summer, we get longer days everyone is in a good mood, and everywhere you look is so bright and colourful.
If you are a regular reader you will know that I love experimenting with nail polishes and with it being summer I’d thought I would try some bold colours.
Here are my picks for nail polishes this summer.
RIMMEL LONDON 60 SECOND SUPER SHINE 880 – PORTA-A-LOO BLUE
Ermmm not sure if I like the name, to be honest, but don’t let that put you off! I always get drawn to the colours more than the name. This is a lovely aqua shade of blue, which is really bright.
I had a pedicure last month and I chose a lovely blue/green colour and I have been looking for a drugstore version for ages, this one is the closest I could find, I love it, I think it’s a great shade to wear on your toes.
With a top coat, this polish stays on without chips for at least a week.
MAYBELLINE COLOR SHOW 60 SECONDS – 13 NY PRINCESS
Like everyone else this summer I have become a bit addicted to Love Island, I love watching all the drama, but I love watching for summer outfit inspiration.
I have also been paying close attention to some of the nail colours the girls and have been wearing.
I picked this colour as I think it’s a lovely summer pink and bit brighter than the normal pinks I go for. This colour is similar to colour that Liv has been sporting, and I really love it.
MAYBELLINE COLOR SHOW 60 SECONDS – 33 LUX LOBSTER
For me, summer is all about corals, burnt reds and oranges. I love wearing these colours this time of year, and they look even better when you have a tan.
This shade is really bold, it’s probably one of the brightest colours I have worn, but I think in summer it’s acceptable. I currently have a really bad cold, so I have been wearing this colour to cheer me up a bit.
MAYBELLINE COLOR SHOW 60 SECONDS – 52 IT’S A BOY
Ok, so this colour is inspired by another girl from love island! This time Gabby. She has been wearing it for weeks and I just love the colour. It’s more of a pastel and understated colour compared to the other shades I have chosen. But I just love it and I was pleased when I found it as I have been wanting this colour for ages.
All of these shades dry quite quickly, which I think in summer is a must. The last thing you want is a colour that takes ages to dry when you just want to get out and enjoy the sunshine.
So these are my nail polish picks for summer, I’d love to find out your go-to shades for this summer.X
