March Birchbox Review

Mish Mesh Blog - March Birchbox Review

So this month I got my first ever Birchbox (I know where have I’ve been). With it being my first box I thought I would do a review on the beauty goodies I received.

Marcelle Gentle Makeup Remover for sensitive eyes

I loved this as it is very gentle to use on my eyes. It pretty much removed all my eye makeup in one go! (which I was amazed by.) Some products I have used in the past have made my eyes red but not this one. It has cucumber and green tea in the formula, so hopefully, it will help with any dark circles and puffiness. This has a big thumbs up from me and I have put it straight in my makeup bag

Oribe Dry Texturizing  Spray

I haven’t heard of this brand before so I was really interested to give it a try. It part dry shampoo, part texturiser. You spray it where you need volume and it can be used as an alternative to dry shampoo. I’m not really sure this is the right product for me. It smells lovely but when I first sprayed it onto my hair it felt a little bit sticky, but after rubbing it into my hair it felt more like some of the other dry shampoo products I’ve used in the past except there weren’t any white marks on my hands or clothes. For the volume part of the product, my hair is very long, thick and heavy, so it didn’t really work as well as it would on people’s hair.

Benefit They’re Real Double Lip in Lusty Rose

This product was the full sized gift in this month’s box, which I was really excited to try as I’m obsessed with lipsticks at the minute.

When I first tried I wasn’t quite sure, it has a teardrop shaped tip which has the lip liner at the top and the lip colour at the bottom. I totally messed up my first application (it looked like my 6-year old nephew had put it on for me, not a great look!)

I didn’t position the liner part of the lipstick correctly. (typical me) You have to position the liner part at the top to sweep your top lip and then flip it upside to line your bottom lip and then you fill in the colour. I‘ve got the hang of it now, and I love it.  The colour is so nice and it feels really soft, it doesn’t dry out my lips and makes my lips look fuller.

Balance Me Instant Lift Primer

This is a natural product with has hyaluronic acid and acacia gum, which tightens skin and blurs enlarged pores. You use it on top of your normal moisturiser. I’m not sure if this is the right product for me as I don’t really have enlarged pores. Although the primer made my skin feel really smooth and soft, and smelt lovely. If you want soft skin and smoother pores this could be a good one to try.

Model Co Highlighting Trio in Peach, Bellini and Bronze

I love a bit of highlighter so I was really excited to try this product. I think the peach is my favourite shade. They are creamy in texture so they are very easy to blend, but they change into a powder once they are on your skin. I can’t wait to experiment more with these. I have been using the peach shade on the apples of my cheeks and the Bellini colour under my eyebrows. I think the bronze shade would be good to use below my cheekbones and would be good for a bit of contour.

So that is my first Birchbox review. I hope you enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed trying out the products. I can’t wait for the products in April’s box x
