Bolognese in Bologna

This summer I went on a weekend trip to Bologna in Italy, the home of Ragu and I loved every second. It has to be one of my favourite places.

We spent most of the first day walking around and taking in the sights, and visiting all the food markets.

We went on a bus tour around the city, which took us to the top of the mountains which we saw great views of Bologna below us.

When we weren’t exploring time was spent eating the amazing food Bologna has to offer, the dish they are best known for is Ragu. and of course we had to taste lots of Gelato, to find our favourites, mine was Nutella.

To burn off all the food we climbed the Asinelli tower which is 97 metres high. The climb can be quite tiring but once your at the top, the views are well worth it.

On our last night we got to watch the last half an hour of the Euro final in Piazza Maggiore, it was shown on a big screen right in the middle of the square, and the atmosphere was very different, to the atmosphere it is in England.

I hope you enjoy the pictures and if you ever get the chance to go to Italy, Bologna is well worth a visit. x
